Wedding Planning

Congratulations, you’re engaged!

News feeds on social media are often full of proposals over the Christmas period, it’s such a romantic time of year to get engaged.  Whether you said “Yes!” on a rooftop overlooking Manhattan on your winter city break, on an Icelandic fjord under the northern lights, or just at home in front of the tree then this blog is for you. It’s all Champagne and excitement to begin with until it dawns on you, ‘What next!!?’ .

Rather than dive head first into Pinterest boards and google searches (and sitting around listening to every married person you know tell you how to do it) just sit back and read this blog.

The first thing to remember is that it’s your day and your wedding should reflect you and your tastes. Everyone one will have their opinion to add, so take it on board and if it doesn’t stay true to you then feel free to ignore it. Be confident to say no  and don’t let people talk you in or out of things.

Next you’ll need to get organised and set a date, venue, and most importantly a budget. The average cost of a UK wedding in 2017 was £27,000.  While that amount might be accessible to some, for many that’s an eye-watering aount and you may be looking to save where you can.  Thankfully there’s a lot you can do to keep costs down. Here at Copplestones we’ve got your dress covered: designer Alesandro Rossi, Amanda Wyatt, Charlotte Balbier, and Bianco Evento gowns at fabulous prices.

What ever proportion of your budget you set aside for your dress, you’ll be able to rest assured with our average price for a wedding dress at £700.  With dresses ranging from £199 to £1549,  you’ll be able to get that fairy-tale look and have some cash left to go towards the honeymoon and venue.  With several ways to split the cost including interest free credit over 2 years, that dream look will become a dream reality.

Now it’s time to choose your wedding party and start the guest list. You’ll need to choose the bridesmaids and maid of honor, and find a date they are all available so you can come and try on dresses at either our Chester or Liverpool store (just click the links to make your appointment).  But don’t leave it too late!  Although we have 100’s of dresses to take away, some dresses can take up to 8 months to order in and you’ll need to allow up to 8 weeks for alterations.  So for the greatest amount of choice, we recommend coming in 18 months to 9 months before the big day.
By now you’ll have your date confirmed with the venue so you should be able to perfectly plan your visit to us.  Our friendly team will help you book your appointment, find you ‘the one’ and take care of you on every step of your journey.
One last point, why not win your wedding dress!  Our competition is running until the end of January 2018 and our winner will have until 28th of February 2018 to claim the prize, T’s & C’s apply
